Cutting

Metal Cutting

All jobs start with cutting, whether sheet, bar, tube or plate, the working stock is the beginning. To that end, we take the first step seriously with the proper equipment for the project. Ginko Metalworks has a wide variety of cutting equipment to handle the widest variety of applications. We continue to add even more cutting products to address our ever growing customer requirements. Our two latest acquisitions include a laser engraver/cutter to handle fine work, and a real workhorse, an Amada Notcher. We also have old school cutters like Manual Ban Saws and Cutting Torches for non-critical cutting.

The Shear

Our Amada Shear is a 10 Ft. 80 ton sheer. This hydraulic shear can handle our sheet applications. Whether cutting sheets for punch optimization or blanks for the Press Brake , the shear is often the first step in manufacturing sheetmetal products.

The CNC Band Saw

This is our goto solution for cutting tube and bar stock. The CNC controls allows us to cut to spec with a repeatability of .010”, reducing the time and steps for making products and allowing us to go from saw to Welding/Weldment or bending.

The Scotchman Ironworker

This extremely versatile piece of equipment saving time, increase productivity, eliminate waste and create clean smooth cuts and holes. Our Scotchman hydraulic ironworker can be used for punching, shearing, notching, bending and other metal fabrication functions.

Amada Notcher

Next to the Ironworker, the Amada CSW-250 is one of the most versatile pieces of cutting equipment in our inventory. Known as a Notcher or Corner Shear, this 10 ton unit has the ability to do Notching and coping, and to cut a radius in mild steel up to .125”. With this unit we can reduce deburring and finishing time while providing a cleaner edge.

Laser Cutter

We feature a full line of Amada Laser Cutters (4) from our two Auto Indexing Table Lasers to our two massive fixed table, Flying Optics CNC units, capable of cutting ¾” and 1” cold roll steel plate, to our CNC controlled Fixed laser cutting head units with their ability to cut oversize products. Checkout our Laser Cutting page for more details.

Laser Cutting Machining Punching Welding and Weldment
Regardless of the skill of the worker or the quality of the machine, one thing is undeniable, the quality of the tool is the weak link. At Ginko Metal Works we have addressed this by purchasing an in-house automated Amada Tool Sharpening system. With a few clicks, and 8 seconds later we have a like new tool. What makes this important is we can re-sharpen our tools when needed, and not when the tooling people come, leaving the choice to run using less than quality tooling or stopping production.
